Advent 2022 – Hymn for 3 December from LWF World Service - Tigray

The #LWFAdvent calendar takes us to the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus - Mekelle Congregation in Tigray performing "A Child was Born in Bethlehem."

The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Makane Yesus's (EECMY) Diaconal arm DASSC, operates humanitarian programs throughout Ethiopia.

The EECMY Central North Ethiopia Area Office is one of the four Area offices of EECMY DASSC, and it is in Addis Ababa. The Area office operates in seven regional states and two city Administrations and closely manages the development and social services projects/programs implemented by nine branch offices organized under it.

The NAW branch office includes the Tigray zone, implements projects under DASSC program such as resilience building programs, education, child and youth development programs and Humanitarian Response and peace building programs.

A few major partners of DACSS are NCA/DCA, ACTAlliance, Church of Sweden, FELM, the American Presbyterian church and UNHCR.

During this Advent season, LWF member churches and World Service country programs are sharing hymns from their congregations and programs to show how the Lutheran communion regions prepare for Christ’s coming into this world. https://www.lutheranworld.org/advent-hymns
